October 2012 marks the 111th anniversary of Hansgrohe, one of the world’s leading companies in the sanitation industry. From its humble beginnings in 1901 in Schiltach in the Black Forest, it has blossomed into a world renowned brand, and is now a company whose products are used daily in more than 120 countries across the globe.
“In these fast-moving times, it should not be taken for granted that a company will be able to grow and develop so successfully over such a long period of time,” stressed Siegfried Gänßlen, Chairman of the Management Board of Hansgrohe SE. “This could only be achieved thanks to Hansgrohe’s persistent old-fashioned ways of doing things, together with the company’s ability to reinvent itself whenever it was necessary.” A major asset is the creative spirit and passion for innovation, which the gifted inventor Hans Grohe possessed and passed on – and it is a legacy that is maintained and nurtured until this very day.
It is a well-established fact that Hansgrohe SE has inspired trends which have shaped bathroom history and continually set new standards with inventions.
Hansgrohe’s innovations include spray modes such as the RainAir technology and energy-saving technology such as the EcoSmart technology, as well as with its multi-award-winning design concepts. Hence from having the Raindance Hand showers with different jet types, it evolved into a new Raindance series known as the Raindance Select in 2011. What differentiates the Raindance Select from the Raindance is the ‘select’ button which you can easily press to choose your preferred jet type. Previously with the Raindance, one had to adjust the ring to change jet type, which was less convenient.
Designed and researched in-house, Hansgrohe’s products aim to make the bathroom ‘more functional, comfortable and beautiful’. Boasting a rich culture of design innovation, many bathroom shower features which people across the world now take for granted, were originally introduced by Hansgrohe over its 111-year history. This culture of design innovation continues to be reflected in Hansgrohe’s newest product offerings, over 80% of which are made in Germany and carry with them the assurance and guarantee of German quality and expertise, honed over decades of Hansgrohe’s existence.
There are currently two major brands under the company: Hansgrohe, with its range of showers, taps and mixers; Axor, the luxury brand which specialises in bathroom collections and bathroom designs.
Nowadays, highly individual requirements are shaping people’s personal choices of pleasurable shower experiences. Hansgrohe worked with the designers from the prestigious Phoenix Design studio to develop in the Raindance Select Showerpipe 360 a new shower system that combines overhead shower, hand shower and thermostat perfectly under the motto “Raindance Select. Select your shower”.
Whether a thundering force of nature or a softly flowing idyll: waterfalls are fascinating objects that hold some sort of magical power over us. Even our ancestors used this wildly romantic form of natural showering for refreshment. And Sebastian Kneipp, who cured his lung disease by bathing in the cold waters of the Danube, recognised the healing effect of different uses of water in about 1850. The refreshing “power shower” is one of these. With the new shower systems in the Raindance Rainfall series, the shower specialist Hansgrohe is now bringing the sensation of a waterfall into bathroom in the home.
Some people swear by dousing themselves in cold water at the end of a hot shower in the morning; after sitting in a sauna, it is almost obligatory. However, even a mildly warm gush jet can relieve tension in the shoulder and neck area or pleasantly rinse out the shampoo from your hair. Inspired by water in its natural form, the Hansgrohe developers worked with the prestigious Phoenix Design design studio to design a complete shower system that pampers users with not only an aerated, rain-like RainAir jet, but also a RainFlow gush jet.

I like this brand! But I prefer the bathroom products from Roca, the spanish brand. They have very good quality with reasonable prices. Do you know them?
