Kids Join In The Breast Cancer Fight - A Mother’s Day Celebration with Avon Representatives

In honour of Mother’s Day, Avon recently celebrated the special day bringing mothers and kids together with a line of family activities at Space U8, Shah Alam. As part of Avon’s philanthropic efforts in raising awareness for breast cancer awareness, kids joined hands with Avon to support their mothers to check their breast regularly.
One of the highlights of the event, Avon introduced the latest Lipstick called Totally Kissable Lipstick which Avon commits to donate RM1 from each lipstick sold to raise Avon’s Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer fund. The kids expressed their love to their mothers by kissing and hugging their mothers in support of the breast cancer awareness campaign. This is one of Avon’s key Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) platforms with the objective to fight Breast Cancer.
The latest range of Totally Kissable Lipstick is unique blend of Avocado, Coconut Oils Condition, Collagen and Fruit Enzymes which gives up to 3 times Smoothing Complex. Comes in 10 attractive shades, these lipstick is on Special Intro Price of RM23.90 (RM27.50 for Sabah & Sarawak). With the purchase of each lipstick, it also comes with an attractive pink color Coin Purse worth RM5.90.

“Mother’s Day should be celebrated every day. We should be reminded a mother is not just a woman who has given birth to her own flesh and blood but more notably, someone who sacrifices so much to nurture their children to attain great heights. We must show our mothers how much we care about them. That is why it is important that children should encourage their mothers to check their breast regularly,” said Elaine Aisyah, Senior Marketing Communications Manager.
A heartwarming saying by a 9 year old girl, Nur Atirah Johar when asked to express her love for her mother, “I love my mummy very much and I want to be with her all the time. She’s the queen of my heart.”
"Thanks to the support from Avon representatives and also the public, Avon Malaysia raised more than RM2, 500,000 through its Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer campaign since year 1994. We've donated and collaborated with various NGOs, hospitals and associations in fighting breast cancer. With the statistics of 4 AVON lipsticks sold in every second, this year's fund raising campaign would leverage on the charity sale
of AVON Totally Kissable lipstick. The fund raised will support more awareness, survivorship programs to save more lives. Despite the increasing rates of breast cancer cases, many women; be it rural or urban are still very ignorant about BSE (Breast Self Examination), thus AVON aims to create more reach out program to provide BSE for women nationwide,” added Elaine Aisyah.
Families were filling up the space as early as 9.30am to join the celebration as the event kicked start with cooking demonstration by using Avon Master Cook cooking ware.
While the mothers were enjoying their cooking session, kids were invited to participate a colouring contest themed “I love you, Mama”. 30 lucky individuals were seen all smiley when they received a goody bag from Avon for being the early birds that morning.
Other activities for the families included games, mother and daughter look alike photography contest, quiz, skincare regime session, lip spa tips and lucky draw with attractive prizes to be won. Along with enjoying the event, each mother received a bouquet of flowers to take home.
