This Ramadhan, NENEK Returns With 138 Mouthwatering Malay Specialities at JW MARRIOTT Kuala Lumpur

The JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur is proud to bring back its long-standing tradition of serving 138 of nenek’s traditional recipes and more for its buka puasa buffet this holy month of Ramadhan.
Geared towards preserving the convivial heritage of a Malay kampong celebration, the buffet will revisit the nostalgia of breaking fast in a vibrant village. The 138 recipes are handed down from the grandmothers of the chefs at the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, while recipes for some 30-odd modern interpretations are by the chefs themselves.
The feast will feature a colourful collection of gerai–rustic wooded stalls serving specialities such as Satay Kampong and Ikan Panggang, as well as heartier dishes at the Gerai Nasi Dagang, Nasi Kandar and Nasi Ayam. The whole succulent lamb on a spit grilled over charcoal fires is bound to excite young ones and adults alike, and still others will be satiated at the tandoori meats and seafood, barbecue and noodle stalls.
The juicy Satay is a must try!

The extensive spread will also feature some harder to find dishes such as Rendang Kerang, Daging Salai Masak Lemak dengan Bachang, Sambal Udang dengan Petai and Tongkeng Ayam Goreng Cili -these made from authentic recipes learnt at nenek’s hearth.
Another must try - Petai; It's really tasty!

Sweet endings come in the form of the Gerai Bubur-serving a selection of sweet fruit and legume porridges, and the ever popular shaved ice and rose syrup creation, Ais Kacang, both providing perfect options to ending the meal.
The bubur Lambuk is so tasty!
In keeping with the spirit of “silatul rahim” or building sincere ties at Ramadhan and giving thanks for what we have, the JW Marriott Ramadhan buffet is priced at a reasonable MYR75++ at the Poolside and MYR65++ at the 4th floor Starhill Conference Centre; children ages 7 to 12 dining at either venue may enjoy the buffet at half price.
Encouraging families, friends and colleagues to gather together for the mouthwatering buka puasa meals that have long become a part of the Malaysian custom, Ramadhan buffet will be served from 7.00pm – 10.30pm daily. This buffet will run from Wednesday, 10th July till the eve of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
