theSkintopic Celebrates 1st Anniversary with Chairman & Founder of Linden Leaves, Ms Brigit Blair

New Zealand beauty and lifestyle distributor theSkintopic celebrated its first anniversary at their Pavilion Kuala Lumpur kiosk on my Birthday, 26th Sep 2013. I had the opportunity to attend the event with members of the press, loyal customers, business partners and other bloggers.
The most exciting part for me was to meet the special guest for the afternoon - Chairman and Founder of Linden Leaves, Ms Brigit Blair who came all the way from Christchurch, New Zealand. She had presented a live demonstration creating the best-selling Aromatherapy Synergy Body Oil in front of us.

Following her presentation, guests had the opportunity to assemble the body oils themselves by manually filling the bottles with the freeze dried ingredient such as lavender and rose followed by the respective body oils.
The activity proved to be a hit with guests (including me) as they happily posed with their ‘masterpieces’ which they all got to bring home.
The afternoon ended with a lucky draw where three guests took home a Linden Leaves Aromatherapy Synergy hamper each worth RM414, jealous max to the lucky ones!

Established in 2012, theSkintopic focuses on making available quality skin care products from New Zealand to its customers. theSkintopic believes in the wellbeing of mankind, a balance healthy body & mindset that contributes to the overall good of the community at large. The business aims to contribute to the development and advancement of skincare via the introduction of quality skin care products in Malaysia’s retail environment. At present, theSkintopic is the exclusive distributor of natural and botanical skincare and bodycare brands from New Zealand, namely Olive, Tebe, Linden Leaves, Wild Ferns and the latest addition, Evolu which was introduced in Malaysia this June.
theSkintopic’s retail operations first began with Olive and Tebe counters at department stores including Metrojaya and Parkson in the first year of business. I had reviewed the Olive & Tebe products previously.

Due to the encouraging response on the natural skincare products from the public, new brands were brought in which led to the establishment of the first standalone theSkintopic boutique kiosk at Subang Parade in August 2012. The second standalone theSkintopic boutique kiosk opened at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in September 2012 followed by the third outlet at Hartamas Shopping Centre in April, and the fourth at The Curve in June this year. Mr Frederick Loh, Executive Director of theSkintopic said, “It gives us great pleasure to be celebrating our first anniversary today, and we wouldn’t be here without the solid support from our partners like Linden Leaves as well as our loyal customers, business partners and members of the media. We have certainly grown from strength to strength, and from a single outlet, today we are extremely thrilled to have four stand-alone kiosks, with a fifth location to be opened before the end of this year in KL City Centre.”
The Linden Leaves story began in 1995 in Christchurch, New Zealand by Brigit Blair who developed a strong interest in skincare formulations and ingredients while caring for two of her three children who suffered from severe eczema and skin allergies in their youth. Not able to find a quality range of products to suit the family needs, Brigit spotted a niche and began developing her own range.
Brigit Blair, Founder and Chairman of Linden Leaves said, “I started Linden Leaves 18 years ago in response to the limited options offered to two of my children who suffered from chronically severe eczema for years. To start a business there has to be a need and a passion, a dream and a vision, and an end goal to drive and sustain you through the challenges ahead. For me, the steroid creams hadn’t cured the problems and while I had no illusions that I could cure it either, I believed a more natural, gentler approach was a better alternative for long term use.”

She added, “A sense of delight was a cornerstone pillar for Linden Leaves from the beginning and remains as a key requirement in product development. Whether purchasing is for yourself or for a gift, our wish is for the end user to be delighted. The various ranges have developed over the years and always within the parameters of efficacy and excellent design. I believe design is what differentiates us. It is a philosophy, an approach, an alternative way of seeing things. A brand needs to adapt and challenge, be innovative and a story teller and create superior function as well as good looks.”

Linden Leaves was established based on the founder’s passion for quality, effective and safe bodycare and lifestyle products which would be visually appealing, enjoyable to use on an everyday basis, and effective and gentle, helping to restore balance to the skin – especially troubled skin.

Linden Leaves is available exclusively at theSkintopic kiosks, and the range includes Skincare, Bathtime and Aromatherapy Synergy products suitable for all ages. Products retail from RM59 to RM216.
