Debenhams Malaysia
has launched its SS14 collection at their Starhill Gallery store last month.
The
event was held in collaboration with the ABWM (Association of British Women
in Malaysia) in support of selling the children's book, "Mr. Monty's
Treat".
The book was
written by Gail Featherstone, wife of the recent British High Commissioner to
Malaysia. It was inspired by stories her husband, Simon, used to tell his
children when they were young. Gail, joined forces with water colour artist,
Mollie Jackson, to produce a wonderfully illustrated book aimed at educating
children on Malaysia's exotic natural treasures, such as Monitor Lizards, Bunga
Raya and Durian!
The proceeds of the
sale of tickets to attend the event as well as all sales of the book, will be
going towards Hospis Malaysia in support of children's palliative care.
Over
100 guests were anticipated to attend the event and they had enjoy an exclusive
fashion show preview of the new SS designer ranges from Debenhams.
Womenswear trend guide SS14, including the must have tropical and bright colors. Whether you want to be a tribal goddess or pretty in pastels, you could find them in store or online at debenhams.com
And for menswear SS14 trends; from simple smart dressing with a focus on mixing black with shades of grey, blue and navy to a kaleidoscopic blend of print and patterns, as seen through the tinted glasses of a modern traveler.
A lucky draw
as well as an appearance by "Mr. Monty" himself who has recently
returned from successfully climbing Mount Kinabalu with a team of volunteers
from the British High Commission (https://www.facebook.com/mrmontysmarvellousmission).
