Ode to two newly crowned dance Champs, Vanity Crew and Jayden Koi in 2015’s most awaited GATSBY Dance Competition, Malaysian Finals. Held on 10 January at the country’s first integrated green lifestyle transit mall, Nu Sentral Mall, the annual dance-off drew in a zealous crowd of supporters, VIPs, media guests, spectators as well as international.
Compared to previous seasons, this year’s competition is not only limited to students but also non-student dance enthusiasts who wished to take a shot at fame and fortune.
In the student category, Vanity Crew nailed the Champion title with his outstanding techniques, entertainment appeal, originality and personal styling to bag
himself RM2,000 cash and GATSBY products, an all-expenses paid trip to participate in
the Asia Grand Finals plus a cool STEEZ Audio System. The first and second runner-
ups went to Lingo-Twin and ShakeLoveBoom in the Student Category, while Jayden Koi and Nic Tan won the first place and first runner-up respectively in the Non-Student Category.
Vanity Crew carried with them the country’s hope of regaining the Grand GATSBY Award at the Asia Final, happening on 7th experience awaits the Malaysian Champ to soak up the limelight, while checking out what’s hot and what rocks in the most happening dance capital of Asia. Vanity Crew can also look forward to a brand new image makeover from GATSBY and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to flaunt it on a center stage broadcasted live via Ustream to worldwide audience. To add icing on the cake, the Asia Grand Final winner will be accorded the privilege to embark on a fully paid dance exchange tour to any one of the 9 participating countries and be inspired by the exciting rhythm of new Asia firsthand.

2009-2010 Champion, Jackson ‘Boogie J’, a celebrated dancer, musician and actor-
entertainer who is also the owner of FreakZ Dance Academy, Dennis ‘ECX’ Yin, a
talented member of the popular ECX dance group who has garnered countless awards
in the local and international dance competitions, as well as FishBoy, Japanese
celebrity dancer who is also a popular TV host for “DANCE@TV” with a myriad of international dance awards and accolades under his belt.

Since 2008 when the competition first kicked off internationally, the idea was to serve as an avenue for aspiring students to channel their creativity and passion through modern dance.
