Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovator Award 2014 - Artistry of Inspiring Creativity

Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovator Award – Artistry of Inspiring Creativity is the largest cross-cultural hair design photo competition of its kind. Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovator Award was happened at Connexion @ Nexus, Bangsar South for the year 2014.

I had the honour to witness the spectacular Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovator Award 2014 from the top hairstyling talents across eight countries – Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.

Aspired to improve the performance and lift the level of the entire industry through this professional peer rivalry, Shiseido Professional dedicates itself to not only provide our hair designers with high quality hair care, but also to discover and develop new artistic team who will be the next-generation leaders in communicating the future of beauty together.

From a broader perspective towards the development of culture and lifestyle in this new era, and always seeking to create new value, Shiseido Professional is confident that this competition will push our Malaysian ‘Beauty Innovators’ to lead on the future of beauty and take the world through centre stage. The challenge against their peers and themselves will push these hair designers to go beyond their own usual limits, and Shiseido Professional is assured that this professional competition will raise professional skills at a local level, as well as international improvement within the industry.

With an overwhelming participation from hairstylist all over Malaysia, entries received were carefully evaluated and narrowed down by a panel of esteemed judges who are talented professionals from the industry.

All the semi-finalists of the Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovator Award 2014 that night was present that night. With the support of Mayflower Group, Top 5 finalists have been selected and will be making their way to an all-expense paid trip to Japan to attend the Shiseido Professional Beauty Congress to be held in Tokyo in March 2015. These Top 5 entries have been judged by the Panel of Grand Jury in Japan, comprising of Shiseido Beauty Top Specialists, Mr. Masa Otake, as well as renowned photographers and designers, who will participate as guest judges.

The night was full of spectacular & inspiring hair shows presented by Shiseido Professional’s very own Artistic Ambassador Team, comprising of Edison Lim, Ming Thum and Iven Loong. Not forgetting the outstanding artwork creation by Shiseido Professional’s very own Beauty Creative Team, comprising of Elvin Soh, Eric Koh and Lois Lee. 

The highlight of this eventful night is the special stage work by the consecutive two-time Grand Prix Winner of ‘Hairdresser of the Year’ at the Japan Hairdressing Awards (JHA), Mr. Tadashi Harada.

The result of Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovator Award 2014….

Congratulations to Peter Pang Yong Chang from J-Feelz Hair & Make-up Studio, Johor Bahru for winning the Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovator Award 2014. His Inspiration: Hornbill had won the title. How did he came out with the idea? Peter said:’ Environmental issues and recycling advocates are always the main concern of us human beings, but at the same time, this issue is also being neglected by us. The inspiration behind this look is the hornbill. The hornbill species is facing extinction and is being protected by the Malaysian government. As a resemblance, I would like to highlight and recall for us to save our world and love every single life for it is a precious gift.’

As the Grand Prix winner, Peter had also drive home the all-new Nissan Almera 1.5 sponsored by Nissan. It was really a big win for Peter!
