FashionValet
is back as the main sponsor for the fifth year of KL Fashion Week! In
celebration of the great partnership, FashionValet and KLFW have
joined forces to instil pride and recognition of incredible Malaysian
talents with #IAMHOMEGROWN
as the anchor of this year’s event.
“There
is one thing that binds us together in this country regardless of
race, religion or political views: We are, first and foremost,
Malaysians. In the spirit of Merdeka, the birth of #IAMHOMEGROWN
aims to celebrate who we are, our contribution as Malaysians as well
as to highlight those who have paved the way for us!” exclaimed
Fadzarudin Anuar, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of
FashionValet.
The
#IAMHOMEGROWN campaign features more than sixty Malaysian icons of
various fields and backgrounds, who have made a name for themselves
in their respective industries. Some of the icons featured are actors
such as Puan Sri Tiara Jacqueline and Bront Palare, music mavens such
as Joe Flizzow, fashion powerhouse Mimpikita and Khoon Hooi to
purveyors of Malaysian cuisines, Datuk Chef Wan and Madam Kwan, among
others. Regardless
of race, religion or political views, these names have come together
to support the campaign.
To
commemorate the #IAMHOMEGROWN movement, FashionValet’s very own FV
BASICS have produced a collection of street style inspired threads -
from T-shirts, jumpers/sweaters, to jumper dresses and leggings with
the text #IAMHOMEGROWN
boldly emblazoned on each piece. The pieces from the collection are
made in cotton mix, and come in fuss-free hues such as black and
white. With its minimalist aesthetic, the collection demonstrates the
versatility of street style staples, with endless styling
possibilities. Designed to be worn daily by anybody, no matter what
they do, each piece is a powerful statement of Malaysian pride.
In
conjunction with KLFW 2017, the FashionValet pop-up booth located
outside Pavilion’s main entrance is a must-visit. Look out for
#IAMHOMEGROWN
merchandise at the booth, where patriotic iron-on patches will be an
exclusive offering with every purchase during the KLFW 2017 period.
Fashion enthusiasts can get their style on at the FashionValet
Studio, by getting their photos taken by fashion photographer, Bibo
Aswan. For those dreaming of a lush getaway, stand a chance to win a
grand prize sponsored by Club Med Cherating with an OOTD contest.

Four
floors above the grounds of KLFW 2017, FashionValet’s Pavilion
store is revamped as a chic fashion lounge, with furniture sponsored
by Recro Furniture. The plush sofa in the middle of the store is a
brief respite for those who need a break from running around in their
heels. The makeup corner, with cosmetics sponsored by NITA Cosmetics
and SimplySiti, will see makeup artists waiting for anyone who needs
a quick touch up before the next fashion show slot! For inspiration,
one can also take in the gallery displaying all sixty portraits of
the Malaysian icons featured in the #IAMHOMEGROWN
campaign at the store.
“We’re
very proud to be part of KLFW, to showcase all the best Malaysian
fashion has to offer. It’s Malaysian fashion’s biggest event, and
this year we want to emphasize the power of the Malaysian spirit. We
are home grown, and proud of it. Let’s celebrate our achievements,
and wear them proudly!” concluded Vivy Yusof, Co-Founder and Chief
Creative Officer of FashionValet.
The
FV BASICS #IAMHOMEGROWN
collection is unisex, with a range of sizes from S/M to M/L. Priced
between RM59 to RM109, the collection is available at FashionValet’s
Pavilion physical and pop-up store from 16 August 2017 onwards whilst
pre-order can be made online via www.fashionvalet.com
