Barton & Guestier Wine Dinner @ IKETERU Hilton KL

Welcome to my humble blog and reading my first blogpost for year 2018. I thought of starting the new year sharing the premium dinner I had at IKETERU Hilton KL sometime back.
Thanks to a wonderful invitation, I had the chance to feast on 5-course wine pairing dinner with Barton & Guestier Wines from France presented by the brand ambassador, Victoire Desvigne at the Barton & Guestier Wine Dinner
It was one of the finest gourmet dining experience to me, when my favourite Japanese food pair with the premium French wines.
The menu was specially crafted by the Japanese Executive Chef Ricky Kamiishi. It started with B&G Reserve Sauvignon Blanc IGP, a cool and refreshing white wine.

Pre-diner drinks – B&G Reserve Sauvignon Blanc IGP

Starter

Crab meat with brown sauce tartar, fresh persimmon with tofu sauce

Egg custard with sea urchin
B&G Reserve Sauvignon Blanc IGP

Cold Dish

Tuna with garic soy sauce, salmon with mango, sea bream & scallop with jelly sauce
Assorted sushi, duck breast meat with foie gras, wagyu sirloin & avocado
B&G Passport Chablis AOC

The B&G Passport Chablis AOC is so classic, fresh and crisp.

Simmered Dish

Tofu dumpling with prawn served with abalone, pumpkin & cherry tomato
B&G Passport Provence Rose AOC

B&G Passport Provence Rose AOC is a nice classic Provence Rose with a beautiful light pink colour; The bouquet is an explosion of red berries and fragrant flowers on the nose. Flattering citrus aromas appear when agitated. Lively on the palate with a jam-like fruit finish.

Main Dish

Lamb rack herb cutlet with blended tomato sauce
served with Hokkaido potato & mushrooms
B&G Passport Chareauneuf Du Pape AOC

Chateauneuf-Du-Pape is a famous village from the southern Rhone Valley, known for their great Grenache-Syrah blend wines. Bright cherry red colour with purple highlights. Bouquet of spicy flavour reminiscent of wild herbs with fruity overtones. Well balanced, good lenght and loverly spicy and fruity flavours on the palate. Perfect with spicy food, rich stews.

Dessert

Green tea starch cake with yuzu sorbet
Overall, every course was not only beautifully presented, they are so delicious that we spent most of the dinner talking about how delicious it was.

It cost RM 420 nett per person for this wonderful dining experience, which I find it decent and well worth the money.
Stay tuned to Hilton KL's Facebook page for more exciting events like this.
