Once I arrived Dataran Putrajaya, I saw a lot of participants turned up that night to participate the Full Marathon, half Marathon, 10km and 5KM RBC Race for The Kids (Family & Friends) categories. They all looked so energetic and excited to join the run.
Meanwhile, there were many activities going on at the various booths at the event. One of it was U.S. Potato. U.S. Potato has been proved a healthy food and it is perfect for runners too.
In fact, naturally nutrient-dense, one medium-sized (148gram) potato provides just 110 calories. There is no fat, no sodium, no cholesterol and contains 30% of your daily value of vitamin C. In fact, potatoes can be part of a weight management regimen. As a good carbohydrates food, potatoes fill you up, not out. Some research suggests that consuming carbohydrate along with protein post exercise may aid in recovery. A medium-size (148gm) U.S. fresh potato has 26 grams of carbohydrate plus 3 grams of complete protein. Furthermore, potatoes are one of the most filling foods available that can stave off hunger as well or better than other common sides.
Potato has more potassium, a key mineral that the body relies on heavily to function properly than a banana. U.S. processors use state-of-the-art technology to meet high industry standards. The finished product is instantly quick-frozen to lock in the flavour and nutrients of fresh potatoes.
Whether you lead an active lifestyle or not, there’s a U.S. potato option to fuel your body and brain throughout the day. There are so many varieties of US fresh and frozen potatoes that can be easily prepared in under 30 minutes to keep your meals interesting. You can bake, mash or boil the U.S. potatoes and pair with any other protein. Let's enjoy the potato power to fuel a better you today.
There are many different varieties of U.S. frozen potatoes that are available for us in Malaysia. See the image below where they have labelled them in the picture so you are able to find them in the supermarkets and hypermarkets!
