Kids From Beaconhouse Create Dessert Pizzas to Express Love for Mothers

Mother's Day 2019 is around the corner. As a mother of 2 girls, I am honoured to celebrate this day that is aim to honour motherhood with all mother around the World. In conjunction with this, Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years, Bangsar gathered preschoolers to design and create their very own Dessert Pizzas to gift to their mothers.
I was honoured to be invited to the special event on 3rd May 2019. Together with my blogger fellows, we witnessed the students worked together with their mom to customize their heart shape pizzas, using Pizza Crusted sponsored by Mission Foods and fruits, chocolate sauce and sprinkles. The pizzas was then packed in a gift box with personalised hand-written notes for the children to share with their mothers as Mother's Day gift.
In fact, Beaconhouse wanted to make this year's Mother's Day special in a way where children are able to get creative, have fun and at the same time teach them the importance of appreciating their mothers.
Speaking at the event, Kelly Robb, Head of Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years Bangsar, said “Mother's Day is a very special opportunity for all of us to celebrate and honour mothers for their never-ending sacrifices for their children and family. At Beaconhouse we place emphasis on family values. This activity is one of the ways we teach children to be expressive in the love for their mothers on Mother's Day and every day.”
Following a long-held Beaconhouse tradition of life long learning, unique hands-on activities beyond the classroom helps develop children in an impactful and engaging manner to further educate and empower them.
“To holistically develop students, it is important that they are given opportunities to explore their creative side instead of solely focusing on academic performances. Activities such as this empowers children to be more independent and confident through meaningful tasks,” Kelly added.
Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years, Bangsar is at the forefront of Beaconhouse's pre-school programme. Established in January 2017, their system incorporates Cambridge and Beaconhouse School System Curriculum Framework inspired by International experience and focuses on laying a strong foundation in language, math and science through play-based learning that will enable children to succeed throughout schooling and in later life.
Stemming from the success of the Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years (BNEY) approach, which incorporates Montessori and Cambridge International learning. The company has witnessed increased demand for the system leading to great expansion across Klang Valley.

The latest edition to the system is Beaconhouse Newlands Early Years, SS2 that is now opens for admissions. Meanwhile a similar pre-school will be opening in Ampang very soon.
