Held for the first time in Malaysia and also in conjunction with the company’s global CSR effort to reach out to cancer patients, participants at the event were treated to a session of fun-learning activities which include a skincare education and makeup class, an accessorising guide to using health benefits materials, as well as a cooking and eating right demonstration.
Amorepacific Malaysia started the event with skincare education focusing on the skin changes after cancer treatment and how to deal with them. Following the skincare education is the makeup class which teaches participants makeup techniques on brightening and evening out skin tone to create a healthy radiant look. Each participant received a makeup your Life kit worth RM700 which includes skincare and makeup products from Innisfree, Laneige, Mamonde and Etude House. All products are alcohol free, gentle to the skin and contain hydrating properties.
As part of the company’s effort to promote a healthy lifestyle, Amorepacific Malaysia also partnered with Stailoz who showcased and shared the health benefits of Titan Tech used in the Stailoz head tubes. Simple styling was taught using the head tube and each participant was also given a head tube sponsored by Amorepacific Malaysia.
Covering the healthy lifestyle segment is also a healthy cooking demonstration by Consultant Dietitian, Indra Balaratnam. Taking into consideration cancer patients’ low energy level during treatment as well as the need to go for frequent treatments, Indra demonstrated an easy to prepare savoury nutritional soup as well as a multigrain brown fried rice packed with nutrition while bursting with flavour to whet the low appetite of cancer patients undergoing treatments.
Margaret Chin, Country Manager of Amorepacific Malaysia when asked on the response of cancer patients for this event, expressed delight. “I’m happy to see a great turnout for this event. Breast Cancer Foundation has been a supportive partner for this event, and I look forward to future collaborations with them. With the success of the makeup your Life event, we will continue to organise this programme annually moving forward,” said Chin.
The makeup your Life programme is also part of a ‘20 by 20’ commitment by Amorepacific, which represents its promise to beautifying the lives of 200,000 women by contributing to their health, wellbeing and economic empowerment by the year 2020. Moreover, by joining the UN-led movement called Every Women Every Child, Amorepacific carries out their obligation to the fullest as a responsible global citizen thereby contributing to A MORE Beautiful World.
