‘Double The Huat’ This Chinese New Year 2020 with Tiger Beer

California Raisins, The Versatile Ingredient Used by World Class Chefs, Headlined A Healthy and Tasty Evening with Chef Emmanuel Stroobant

I had a great start of the New Year 2020 and the New Decade by the lovely invitation to a sweet repertoire of specially-crafted delicious recipes using California Raisins at the Samplings On the Fourteen Restaurant at Berjaya University College held by The Raisin Administrative Committee (RAC).

It was a great honoured to be treated with the recipes that were created by 2-star Michelin celebrity Chef Emmanuel Stroobant along with guest Chef Erich Anton Roos. Me and the other 39 key Malaysian Key Opinion Leaders in Malaysia had an enjoyable and intimate dining experience. We were pleasantly thrilled as we “eat close and personal with the chefs” - watching them demonstrate on the versatile California Raisins in a four-course dinner.

The Chinese New Year/Lunar New Year of Rat is just around the corner. We Chinese must have Pineapple Tart during this festive season because we believe that it will bring us “Ong” (luck). Ong lai Ong lai meaning good luck and fortune are coming our way in Cantonese!

I have recently discovered Swee Bee Pineapple Tart that is available at the new Swee Bee Cafe by Baker Dave located at Plaza Damas 3.

According to Mr. David Wong, founder and managing director of Swee Bee Pineapple Tarts, these traditional tarts are inspired by Swee Bee’s (Baker Dave’s Mum) original recipe of buttery pastry and pineapple fruits to create a nostalgic and delicious pineapple tarts, evoking happy childhood memories of mum’s favorite treats.

Using Swee Bee’s recipe, which contains no additives or chemically derived ingredients, Baker Dave molded these tarts into rectangle shapes, representing increasing wealth in a balanced, stable and safe manner.

EarthTone Music Academy's Open Day

I love music. I always wanted to learn piano but my parents didn't have the financial position to support me back then. Hence, I train myself to sing since young. I love to sing and go karaoke with my friends once in a while. In fact, I believe that singing and music play an important role in our life. You see, Music presents in many aspects of our lives: in theater, television, movies, celebrations, and any other event. Music is a natural part of our everyday experiences from the past to now.

Being a parents of two girls, I send my daughters to music school since they turned 3. I know that this will benefit my children in long run. Recently, I have discovered EarthTone Music Academy that partake in the Suzuki method during their open day on Sunday, 29 December 2019.

Once we reached EarthTone Music Academy, we were welcome by the friendly staffs there. Then, we had a guided tour around the 3 storey EarthTone Music Academy that is equipped with many facilities. Besides, we had also attended the Music education talk and enjoyed watching the fantastic music performances by their teachers and students throughout the day. My kids also had fun at the free body painting session.

EarthTone Music Academy found on the belief that a good musical education not only instills strong musical and technical fundamentals, but also fosters a true appreciation for the arts in general. They believe in the power of music that cultivates self-esteem, self-discipline, and creative thinking skills.
