I was so honored to be part of this memorable event. All the participants were so excited that Shrutika Arjun and Kuraishi The Entertainer were there to meet and greet their fans too.
The event was graced by Charles Santiago, Members of Parliament Klang and Keiji Ono, Managing Director of AEON. Also present at the ceremony was G V Sathia Kumaran, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Colours of India Creation and Global Mega Exhibition, as well as the representative from Malaysia Book of Records.
According to Keiji Ono, “Festival celebrations has always been a way for us to be engaged with our customers because in AEON, we are not only focusing on a good financial return, but also to ensure we are very well connected with our ecosystem which includes our suppliers, partners and above all our beloved customers and the nearby community,”
“AEON wants to enrich our customers with traditional and values as well as becoming the centre for family reunions and gatherings. We want to make all of our malls and stores more than just a new retail as we continuously strive to provide pleasant and new experience to our customers, for them to create beautiful memories while they are with us,” he added.

More than 2500 customers from all races and ages donned with Indian attires visited the mall to participate in the national record-breaking event. It is also enlivened with more than 60 booths selling Deepavali festivities items and various other fun filled activities such as Diya lighting ceremony, Diwali dance performances, music, MAF Kotak Bersamamu presentation, lucky draws, and many more.
This gathering will be recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records as the “Largest Participants Wearing Indian Attire in A Gathering”. In fact, AEON has also recorded two events in the Malaysian Book of Records for “Largest Participation in A Virtual Zumba Event” which was held during the MCO and ‘Most Number of Outlets Participating in National Anthem Singing Simultaneously’ for 2021 National Day celebration last year. Congratulations to AEON for all these big milestones, and do keep up the good work!
This initiative is in line with AEON’s efforts in championing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). Among them is the Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16) which is to ensure a just, peaceful and inclusive society and Good Health and Wellbeing (SDG 3) ensuring healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
