Hair loss is annoying, not only does it happen to men, it also happens to women especially after we gave birth.
In fact, there are many reasons for hair loss listed below;
Age: As we get older, hair growth slows down, while the hair follicles also become smaller, which can result in thinning hair.
Genetics: Hair loss can be caused by genetics, which means it runs in the family. Male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness are common types of genetic hair loss.
Hormonal changes: Hormonal changes in the body can cause hair loss, such as during pregnancy, menopause, or with conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Medical conditions: Certain medical conditions such as thyroid disorders, scalp infections, and autoimmune diseases can lead to hair loss.
Medications: Some medications can cause hair loss, such as chemotherapy drugs, blood thinners, and antidepressants.
Nutritional deficiencies: Deficiencies in certain vitamins and minerals, such as iron and vitamin D, can cause hair loss.
Stress: Psychological stress, as well as physical stress from illness or surgery, can cause temporary hair loss.
Hairstyles and treatments: Excessive hairstyling and certain hair treatments, such as tight braids or chemical treatments, can damage the hair and lead to hair loss.
Environmental factors: Exposure to certain environmental factors such as pollutants and UV radiation can cause hair loss.
While dandruff is more annoying, not only is it itchy, the shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp also make us look unpresentable. There are several reasons why dandruff may appear;
Seborrheic dermatitis: This is a common cause of dandruff. It occurs when the sebaceous glands in the scalp produce too much oil, leading to the overgrowth of a type of yeast called Malassezia, which can cause irritation and inflammation of the scalp.
Dry skin: Dry skin on the scalp can also lead to dandruff. When the skin on the scalp becomes dry and flaky, it can easily shed dead skin cells, which can appear as dandruff.
Sensitivity to hair products: Some people may have a sensitivity to certain hair products, such as shampoos or conditioners, which can irritate the scalp and lead to dandruff.
Poor hygiene: Not washing your hair frequently enough can lead to a buildup of oils and dead skin cells on the scalp, which can result in dandruff.
Medical conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema, or fungal infections, can cause dandruff as a symptom.
Stress: Stress can also contribute to dandruff by weakening the immune system, which can make it easier for fungal and bacterial infections to develop on the scalp.
If you are suffering from hair loss or dandruff, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider or dermatologist to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment for you.

ReplyDeleteHair loss is a serious concern, if not treated at early stage might go bald
ReplyDeleteRawatan rambut dan kulit kepala ni penting. Selalu ramai ingat ke salon gunting, cuci dan treatment dah okay kan? Kalau ada kelimumur should seek doktor advice kan. Ramai just beli shampoo dan tukar-tukar jenama sahaja.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this, absolutely helpful for those with hair loss concerns. Cheers Siennylovesdrawing
