Sunway Putra Hotel’s “Iftar ‘Kuliner’ Nusantara” Ramadan Buffet has been endorsed by His Excellency Ambassador Hermono, Embassy of The Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur at the Coffee House, Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 1 March 2023. Over 100 officials from various embassies in Kuala Lumpur, Indonesian business entrepreneurs, business owners, organisations, media, bloggers and influencers gathered to experience the historic gastronomic event adopting the concept of ‘Serumpun’ literally meaning ‘of the same roots’ between Malaysia and Indonesia.

Launched and endorsed by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur, H.E. Ambassador Hermono, “Iftar ‘Kuliner’ Nusantara” translated as ‘Iftar Culinary Archipelego’ aims to transport guests to Indonesia without having to leave Malaysia.

After the launch of “Iftar ‘Kuliner’ Nusantara” Food Preview, Senior General Manager of Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Mr Wilfred Yeo guided H.E Ambassador Hermono and the Chief Executive Officer of Batik Air, Captain Mushafiz Mustafa Bakri through the various Ramadan specials. H.E Ambassador Hermono shared of his delight and excitement on the collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy and Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur for the upcoming iftar and future partnerships.

Guests were spoilt for choice with over 200 mouth-watering specials from Malaysia such as the Rendang Tok from Perak, an Ikan Bakar station, a whole roasted lamb and much more. From Indonesia, the very authentic Soto Betawi originating from Jakarta, Tongseng from Central Java, Ayam Pop Minang from West Sumatra, the legendary Nasi Goreng Kambing ala Kebun Sireh, Mie Tek Tek and much more.

In addition to the launch, Sunway Putra Hotel’s Senior General Manager, Mr Wilfred Yeo also announced a future opening of an Indonesian restaurant at the hotel, targeted to be officially launched in the third quarter of 2023.

The buffet is priced at RM178+ per person while children aged 5 and below are able to dine-in for free. Children aged 6 to 12 years old will enjoy 50% discount.
