Nippon Paint's “SuperGuardian, Who?” Storybook Launched to Inspire Healthier, Safer Homes for Families

As a mother of two girls, I strive to improve wellbeing of myself and my family. I am happy to learn that Nippon Paint Malaysia, along with their partner, Parenthood Media, has successfully launched an exciting new storybook entitled SuperGuardian, who? created in collaboration with Malaysia’s renowned book creator, Wizard Within, at the Kids World Expo on 17 Jan 2025, located at Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre.
This innovative approach uses the power of storytelling to introduce young readers and parents to the concept of indoor air wellness, using an imaginative approach to highlight the importance of maintaining a healthy home environment. The story centers around Ray, a whimsical character who helps children understand the critical role of clean air in keeping their homes safe and healthy.

In 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) updated its Ambient Air Quality Guidelines, reflecting new evidence that air pollution is more harmful to human health than previously thought. This raises particular concern for Malaysia, where ambient air quality standards for many pollutants still exceed both the WHO’s 2005 and 2021 guidelines. Alarmingly, over 60% of Malaysians are exposed to poor indoor air conditions, indicating that only 4 out of 10 homes provide a safe environment for families.

Nippon Paint’s “SuperGuardian, who?” storybook tackles this pressing issue, offering families an engaging way to learn about the importance of indoor air wellness in everyday family life. “Two years ago, we launched the Wellness Outreach Program to raise indoor health awareness among kids nationwide reaching over 150 schools with fun, educational sessions and coloring contests. Today, we're excited to introduce the SuperGuardian, who? storybook that’s more than just a book—it’s a fun and meaningful way to engage families in the conversation around indoor air wellness,” said Ng Leong Kee from the Marketing team of Nippon Paint Malaysia.

Their indoor wellness product range such as VirusGuard & Spot-less Plus, are designed to combat harmful pollutants like viruses, bacteria, and formaldehyde, perfectly complements the themes explored in the storybook. This emphasis on Nippon Paint’s innovative evidence-based solutions indoor paint, alongside the captivating narrative, resonated deeply with visitors seeking practical ways to improve their indoor environment.

This collaboration between Nippon Paint, Parenthood Media and Wizard Within marks a promising chapter in Nippon Paint’s dedication to wellness creativity and innovation. Through SuperGuardian, who? the brand is introducing families to a new way of prioritizing air wellness, blending creativity with purposeful products to encourage long-term awareness.


During the 3-day exhibition at Kids World Expo from 17th to 19th January 2025, Parenthood will be giving out copies of the SuperGuardian, who? storybook to the first 100 visitors at their booth through some exciting games. The SuperGuardian, who? storybook forms part of Nippon Paint's broader initiative, aimed at reducing harmful pollutants indoors and making air wellness a household priority in Malaysia through its AirGuardian product series.

The launch also served as a teaser for future titles in the series, keeping visitors intrigued about what’s next for the partnership between Nippon Paint and Wizard Within.
